Le 8 juin, les ministres de l’Intérieur de l’UE prévoient de voter sur une réforme majeure du système d’asile européen. Le régime d’asile européen commun (RAEC) est censé comporter des aggravations importantes – et pousser encore plus loin la politique brutale de cloisonnement de la forteresse Europe.

Toutes les personnes en quête de protection pourraient être retenues aux frontières extérieures de l’UE et devraient y déposer une demande d’asile – dans des conditions de détention et sans accès à une assistance juridique. Le „deal Erdogan“ de 2016 entre l’UE et la Turquie est la base de ce plan. Le notoire camp de Moria sur l’île grecque de Lesbos et les autres hotspots grecs servent de modèles, leur inhumanité est censée devenir la norme dans toute l’UE.
Si l’on peut expulser vers un soi-disant „pays tiers sûr“, une demande d’asile ne sera même plus examinée. La liste des „pays tiers sûrs“ doit encore être élargie à cet effet.
Un pas supplémentaire vers la déshumanisation des réfugiés. Dans les faits, le droit individuel à l’asile risque d’être supprimé complètement.

Les frontières tuent : en Méditerranée, dans les camps de torture financés par l’UE en Libye, aux grilles de la frontière avec la Biélorussie et ailleurs. Chaque jour, les gardes-frontières des États membres de l’UE procèdent à des push-back illégaux et brutaux.

En résumé:

• Partout aux frontières extérieures, les personnes en quête d’asile seraient internées dans des camps de rétention. Des personnes en état d’urgence psychique seront détenues. Un soutien indépendant ne sera guère possible. Les conditions dégradantes de Moria deviendront ainsi la norme aux frontières extérieures de l’UE.
• Les „procédures d’asile accélérées“ menées directement aux frontières extérieures ne permettront plus d’examiner les motifs de fuite, mais serviront uniquement à trouver un lieu d’expulsion, un soi-disant „pays tiers sûr“. Cette „sécurité“ ne doit alors pas être garantie dans tout le pays nommé „sûr“ et est synonyme de soins minimaux.

C’est ainsi que les gouvernements tentent de bloquer également la voie juridique vers l’asile. Ils se préparent aux mouvements migratoires attendus dans le cadre de la catastrophe climatique plutôt que de remettre en question le système capitaliste. Le réarmement accéléré et le cloisonnement aux frontières extérieures s’inscrivent dans la tendance des développements autoritaires et vers la droite en Europe.

Malgré les violations claires de la Convention de Genève sur les réfugiés, de la Convention européenne des droits de l’homme et des déclarations d’intention contraires dans le contrat de coalition du SPD, des Verts et du FDP de vouloir „mettre fin à la souffrance aux frontières extérieures“, le gouvernement allemand soutient les plans de démantèlement du droit d’asile dans l’UE.

Le 3 juin, nous descendrons dans la rue en colère, en solidarité avec toutes les personnes en quête de protection, contre la forteresse Europe, pour la liberté de circulation et d’établissement et pour l’autodétermination, toujours de manière antifasciste.

On 08 June, the EU interior ministers* want to vote on a far-reaching reform of the European asylum system. The goal of the „Common European Asylum System (CEAS)“ is to include far-reaching tightenings – and to push the brutal isolation policy of Fortress Europe even further.
All asylum seekers should already face detention at the EU’s external borders and have to file asylum applications there – under detention-like conditions and without access to and legal counsel. The „Erdogan deal“ of 2016 between the EU and Turkey is the inspiration for the concept. The notorious Moria camp on the Greek island of Lesbos and the other Greek hotspots serve as models; their inhumanity is to become the norm throughout the EU.

If deportation to a so-called „safe third country“ is possible, the asylum application will not even be examined. The list of so-called „safe third countries“ is to be extended once again for this purpose.

This is a further step towards the dehumanization of refugees. In fact, the individual right to asylum is to be abolished.

Borders kill, in the Mediterranean, in the EU-funded torture camps in Libya, in Belarus. Every day EU member states‘ border guards conduct illegal push-backs.

Short version:

• All over the external borders, refugees are to be interned in reception camps.
• People in a state of psychological emergency will be detained. Independent support will hardly be possible. Thus, the degrading conditions of Moria will become the normality at the EU external borders.
• In so-called „accelerated asylum procedures“ directly at the external borders, the reasons for flight are no longer to be examined, but only a place of deportation, a so-called „safe third country“, is to be found. Security does not have to be guaranteed in the whole country and is equated with minimal care.

In this way, governments are also trying to block the legal path to asylum. They are gearing up for the migration movement that is expected in the wake of the climate crisis, instead of challenging capitalism. The forced armament and walling off at the external borders are in line with the trend of right-wing populist development in Europe.

Despite clear violations of the Geneva Refugee Convention, human rights and contrary declarations of intent in the coalition agreement to „end the suffering at the external borders“, the german coaltion government supports the plans to abolish asylum rights in the EU.

On 03 June, we take to the streets in solidarity with all those seeking protection, against Fortress Europe, for freedom of travel & settlement and self-determination, and always anti-fascist.
